How to check you have the real $DROP

Token names and logos can be copied. Check the issuer address before adding $DROP or making a trade.

How to check you have the real $DROP

On the XRP Ledger, different issuers can create tokens with the same name or currency code. A search result labelled DROP, or one using familiar artwork, might not be our token. Check the issuer address (the XRPL account that created the token) before you add a trust line or trade.

Find the official issuer

The official DROP website publishes the issuer address and currency in its How to buy guide and on the Links page. The How to buy guide also provides a direct link to XRPScan. You can open the issuer account on a trusted XRPL explorer and compare its address with the one shown on our official site.

The site keeps this address connected to its configuration rather than relying on a token name. Explorer screens may arrange the currency and issuer differently, but the issuer address must match exactly. Do not rely on a search result, message, or link sent by an account claiming to represent DROP.

Check before adding or trading

  • Open the How to buy guide by typing the official site address yourself or following a link from DROP's official channels.
  • Compare the complete issuer address in your wallet or trading platform with the official address above.
  • Check the token details and the trade pair before approving. The XRP / DROP pair uses XRP and the token from this issuer.
  • Read the transaction details shown by your wallet. Stop if the issuer, amount, destination or requested permissions are unexpected.

A trust line connects your wallet to a specific issuer and currency. Adding a trust line for a similarly named token does not add the real $DROP. A first trade may create the trust line as part of the transaction, so check the issuer before approving that trade too.

Avoid common scams

Ignore unsolicited airdrops, giveaway claims and urgent messages asking you to connect a wallet or sign a transaction. A token or NFT appearing in a wallet does not mean it is safe to interact with. Never share your secret key or recovery phrase with anyone, including the DROP team, a wallet provider, an exchange, or someone claiming to offer support. Anyone who gets those details can control your wallet.

The DROP website is read-only: it does not connect to your wallet or ask you to sign transactions. Use the official site's Links page to reach its listed explorers and platforms. If an address does not match, do not trade.
