Xaman and Joey are apps for managing an XRP Ledger wallet. With a self-custody wallet, you control the recovery details that let you access your account. The apps have different interfaces, so follow the current instructions in the wallet you choose.
1. Download the real app
Use the official Xaman or Joey website to find its app store listing. Avoid sponsored search results and download links sent in messages.
2. Create a wallet and protect its backup
Follow the app's setup steps. Write down the recovery details it gives you and store them somewhere private and offline. Anyone with those details can control the wallet. Never share them with a person, website or support agent, and do not save a screenshot or cloud copy.
If you already have an XRPL wallet, you can use it instead. A wallet app should not need you to type your recovery details into a website to connect.
3. Add XRP carefully
An account needs XRP for network fees and any required reserve. If you buy XRP through a provider or exchange, select the XRP Ledger network when sending it to your wallet. Check the destination address character by character. A destination tag is an extra routing number used by some services; use it when the receiving service provides one, and follow its instructions exactly.
Reserve requirements can change. Check the current amount in your wallet or in XRPL.org's reserve guide before sending.
4. Add the $DROP trustline
A trustline lets an XRPL account hold an issued token. Search for $DROP in your wallet or use the official issuer details on our How to buy page. Check the issuer address before approving; a token name or logo can be copied. See What is a trustline? for more.
Someone can also send $DROP using an XRPL Check, a deferred payment. It will not appear in your token balance until you cash it, and your wallet may require the correct $DROP trustline first. See how to verify and cash an XRPL Check.
Choose where to trade
An XRPL DEX lets you approve a trade from your own wallet. A centralised exchange holds assets in your exchange account while they are there. Read Buy $DROP on an XRPL DEX or Buy $DROP on Bitrue. Keep your recovery details private whichever route you choose.
